It's a mini dress made of rayon, so I knew I needed a tall length even though I'm only 5'4". Before washing, it was about an inch below the top of my knees. After washing (gentle cycle, line dry), it was about an inch above the top of my knees. So, expect it to lose 2-3 inches after washing. Unfortunately, I still had two big issues with this dress. First, the material creased as soon as I sat down, and the wrinkles stayed put. Second, the top of this dress is cut for someone with a much larger chest. On me, it just looked awkward with too much material in the chest area.

I actually thought this dress was beautiful and fit well. The issue is that the split in the front for the chest is so low that it is unwearable. Had to return unfortunately.

I'm 5'0 and the petite M is down to my knees. The fit was looser than I expected. I was surprised. I'm going to try a petite small and see if that works better. The photo on the model shows it mid thigh.

I was surprised at the low quality of this dress. 100% rayon means it will shrink dramatically.The color and size were accurate.
