The fabric is nice quality. I like thick denim. The petite is pretty short for me- I'm 5'4". I also got a regular length and those are a nice length. I will be keeping all of them. I took off one star because of the way the jeans arrived. They smell horribly of something, I'm not sure what. It smell...s like it might be extremely strong incense or maybe even pesticides. It smells up the whole room. I just put the jeans in the washer for the second time, and I'm hoping the smell will be gone. Also, one of the jeans arrived with no tags and looks like they've been worn.
I got these at such a good price, that I hate writing anything too critical. I love the style and the simplicity of the design. I did check the size guide and was aware the waist would be a bit snug; but, I appear to be between sizes. I am usually a regular 14, and felt like going up to the next siz...e would be too much. I'd hoped that the "stretch" would work in my favor. I am just able to close the very high waist, but they are pretty tight. The wash is a little strange with a kind of creased stripe across the abdomen over the pocket area. The material feels a lot heavier and stiffer than I'd expected. The stiffness in particular is the first thing I noticed. I am determined to walk off a few pounds and make them work! Maybe they'll loosen up. Just be aware they are indeed high wasted. And although they are supposedly stretch, they do not give much at all.

These jeans are very soft and comfortable. As a size 6 on the curvy side, I had to order a 30R in both the washed black and light blue jeans for a comfortable. I didn't have any gaping at the waist with this size. The 28R was too small. These jeans are just the fit I was looking for. I would suggest sizing up

I'm 5' tall, 114 lbs., and usually wear a size 26 in Old Navy, Gap, and Madewell jeans. I bought these in my regular size after reading all the great reviews, but the waistband is extremely small (at least two sizes too small) and I couldn't button them. The jeans are also very wide and baggy in the rear, so sizing up would make them look like clown pants! The material is also very thin, and scratchy. If you're thinking about buying these, especially in black, consider going up at least one size unless you have a very small waist-to-hip ratio.
