I'm 5'4" and 125 lbs. I ordered the Light Wash in a size S short and the Fossil Gray in a size S regular to compare the two. The Light Wash S short fits me perfectly in both length and width. The fabric is lightweight, thin, and comfortable. The Fossil Gray S regular has slightly thicker, rigid, and heavier fabric. It's about 2.5 inches longer, (which is way too long for me) and 1 inch wider than the S short. Both are 100% cotton. I do wish they had a little spandex so the fabric would contour more neatly to your body and reduce the stiffness, at least on the Fossil Gray.

I don't know why all the negative reviews. Maybe it's best to try in store before purchasing knowing that GAP, Old Navy etc. are always inconsistent with their sizing. I tried these in store first before purchasing the colors that I wanted online (Light and Medium wash). I'm 5'3, 145lb and fits a XS, Short. They do not smell. The length is just perfect.
I bought these in a xlarge first. They were so big . Even at almost 8 months pregnant. Returned and bought the large. Couldn't even get them up.

They are so long and I could fit almost another me in them at the waist. I'm going to try and shrink them I guess since they don't make a xxs in short.

I love the look and fit however the formaldehyde SMELL was STRONG with these. I had to soak them in baking soda, amd then tried with vinegar and ran them through the wash 5 times and the smell is still there!!!
