The denim is really soft and comfortable. The 4" inseam is flattering while still being (in my opinion) in the short shorts category. I'm writing this review to help others with sizing. I am 40 years old, 5'5" and 145-ish lbs (or so I think...my actual weight is none of my business!). I carry my wei...ght in my butt and thighs, but my pant size is usually a size 6. At gap, I tend to need to size up to an 8. I got these shorts in a medium and they are perfect, no gap in the waist and they are loose around the thighs which is a dream. Will be purchasing more colors!
Bought two pairs of these cute, supersoft utility shorts—one pair in the Dark Wash and the other in Neon Pink Rose. (I'm a Gap size 31 in jeans, so I purchased Large.) For both, I love the softness and drape of the denim, the zip front, the overall length and coverage, and I especially LOVE, LOVE, L...OVE the deep front pockets! This style is very loose, so I would also recommend sizing down if you want a more tailored look. However, I can only give a THREE-STAR review because, after ONE LAUNDERING, the denim of my hot pink pair was shredding at different points around each back pocket (which thankfully did not happen with my Dark Wash pair). I understand that this is GAP PACTORY, but this isn't a seam unravelling, this is different spots of the denim itself, not the actual pockets, ripping apart (as in, HELLO underpants?!). Not good. So one pair FIVE-STAR, the other ONE-STAR. Bummer.

Purchased two pairs of these oversized shorts. The Olive green is a good match in Small. Very roomy. The Fossil Gray is not gray. It is a washed out green. Not an accurate description. These were returned before as they arrived without bag and a stapled on tape. Sure they were returned because the color is not gray.

I went to the store and tried on the medium and that was too small so I grabbed the large without trying on. I went home and they fit but an oversized feel. Don't really give you a shape at all.

I'm usually a small - got the floral print - they were huge. 100% cotton so I washed them hoping they would shrink. Not enough. Still huge. Size down for sure. Also say mid rise but these are more high rise than mid. I'm 5'4" 122 and carry weight in the middle. Super cute tho!

I usually hate shorts bc I'm only 5'2 and 155lbs and constantly hot in florida, I opt for dresses. But these were actually cute, soft and fit well. I got the distressed tan in medium normally a 6/8. I noticed they were made in bangdalesh that fit perfect, but.the olive green pair were in pakastian which were huge and boxy. So if you can try them on in store, same piece of clothing made in different countries can be different sizing, some thing most retailers do due to trade laws.
