The fabric is nice quality. I like thick denim. The petite is pretty short for me- I'm 5'4". I also got a regular length and those are a nice length. I will be keeping all of them. I took off one star because of the way the jeans arrived. They smell horribly of something, I'm not sure what. It smell...s like it might be extremely strong incense or maybe even pesticides. It smells up the whole room. I just put the jeans in the washer for the second time, and I'm hoping the smell will be gone. Also, one of the jeans arrived with no tags and looks like they've been worn.
I got these at such a good price, that I hate writing anything too critical. I love the style and the simplicity of the design. I did check the size guide and was aware the waist would be a bit snug; but, I appear to be between sizes. I am usually a regular 14, and felt like going up to the next siz...e would be too much. I'd hoped that the "stretch" would work in my favor. I am just able to close the very high waist, but they are pretty tight. The wash is a little strange with a kind of creased stripe across the abdomen over the pocket area. The material feels a lot heavier and stiffer than I'd expected. The stiffness in particular is the first thing I noticed. I am determined to walk off a few pounds and make them work! Maybe they'll loosen up. Just be aware they are indeed high wasted. And although they are supposedly stretch, they do not give much at all.

I am 5'1 (106 lb). I bought this in regular length for a perfect full length for me (covering my feet but barely touching the ground with bare feet). I don't think I have gained weight recently, but I sized up for a more comfortable fit. This is not pure cotton, so I expect it will get loose over time after washing and drying. I prefer a relaxed feel instead of a body-hugging, perfect fit. So a bit loose is fine.

I was able to order the red ones and I LOVE them! I wanted a 31 but they only had 30. I tried my luck and they fit. The red ones does have some stretch. I ordered long so it fits me like a regular length.

I purchased the High Rise Drawstring Wide-Leg Crop Jeans in light wash. I initially got my regular size 27 but they were WAY too tight. Side up to the 28 and they didn't feel any different. Didn't want to return and re-order a third time so I gave up. I wanted to love them, the drawstring is a cute detail and they seemed like a nice, high-quality, thick denim. The length was not quite so cropped on my 5' 4" frame but I still loved them. Had the sizing worked out the would have been perfect. (size 27 in other styles and fits are usually spot-on). I dare say go up at least two sizes in this particular cut and wash.
