Almost all jeans are stretchy now, there was a time when no jeans were stretchy. I like a lot of things about stretch denim, they're usually very soft & ultra comfortable, and accommodating when you squat or stoop etc., but I don't like how much they shrink from a wash/dry cycle, you need to buy a l...ittle looser fit then you like to wear to account for the inevitable shrink. With solid denim, that's not as much an issue, if they fit too tight all of a sudden, it's probably diet, not washer/dryer that's the problem. I'm glad to see gap offers old school denim along with stretch & various fit options, there's something for everyone. For what they are supposed to be, these jeans are excellent and get 5 stars, they look good, feel good, well made, true to size, and I expect will last a long time. If you want a solid non stretch denim in the rotation I definitely recommend these.
